News update….
Message from the President
Hello fellow Lions
March is already upon us and soon spring will be here. Our last meeting with the ladies at Hillside was a nice night. Our speech winner Olivia did a nice job, we all learned a lot about diabetes, and the ladies were very welcoming to us joining their night. All had a good time.
As we now move into March we again find a very busy month with our first meeting on March 9th at the Anawan Club. We will be visited by Sharon Audette, a candidate for 2nd Vice District Governor. We will have then seen both our candidates as we move forward to the state convention. That meeting is also Ash Wednesday, and there will be a fish dinner available. I would like to give a count to our chef by Tuesday morning so if you are planning on attending and/or need a fish dinner please email or call me by Tuesday the 8th. Our BOD meeting night finds us at our second clam boil of the year. The first one was another big success and tickets our going fast for this one. And to close the month we will back at Papa’s on 23rd. Both meetings this month can be a dress casual so show off your Lions apparel.
March also brings a game dinner at the Raynham Lions on the 18th, the bowling tournament on Sunday March 27th, at Taunton Ten Pin with two teams going, and a Zone 5 dinner meeting on Monday March 28th at DiParma’s restaurant in Seekonk. Our Zone Chair Russ has worked hard with Dighton and Seekonk to put this together. This will be a very informative dinner meeting with a speaker from the Perkins School for the Blind. I know it is an additional meeting, but it is what the Lions are all about and a good turnout from the Rehoboth Club would be great. Seekonk is requesting a count by the 24th of March so again please call or email Russ or myself and let us know you will be attending. So as you can see we are not short on events for March.
In closing I was wondering if anyone would like a 42” high definition Plasma flat screen for $10.00. I hear there are raffle tickets available for one of these TVs and there are only 250 tickets. Pretty good chances I would say. See any one on the Recognition Night Committee for tickets.
Yours in Lionism
President Mike
